In 1972, Gene and Kristine Hughes launched the idea for Nature’s Sunshine with a simple idea of putting the healing power of herbs into capsule form. Today, that home-spun family business has become a multimillion-dollar global enterprise with a presence in more than 40 countries worldwide.
Maintaining its mantra of “created from nature and rooted in science,” the company is committed to sourcing pure and potent ingredients, and then systematically running more than 600 tests to ensure that each formulation will be effective and safe.
The company’s product portfolio now includes more than a dozen categories, addressing customer needs for weight management, digestion, sleep improvement, energy and more.
Nurturing people and the planet has become an integral part of the company’s DNA over the last five decades. In its first sustainability report released earlier this month, the company detailed its investments in sustainable energy practices, reducing its greenhouse gas emissions and waste, and embracing a diverse global workforce. This commitment is a high priority in the company’s vision for the future.
“Sustainability and transparency will be at the forefront of our company’s next 50 years,” said Trent McCausland, Nature’s Sunshine Vice President of Sustainability and Transparency.
