The Direct Selling Association (DSA) assembled 12 direct selling companies and more than 60 independent distributors and executives from 17 states to meet with nearly 50 Members of Congress. This Direct Selling Day on Capitol Hill is orchestrated by the DSA to encourage protections for independent workers in future legislative sessions.
“It is a wonderful feeling to have independent direct sellers meeting with their elected officials face-to-face again this year to discuss critical issues around protecting independent work and sharing their businesses,” said Joseph N. Mariano, DSA President and Chief Executive Officer. “We’ve seen the need for and popularity of micro-entrepreneurism change and grow during the past several years and we’re excited to continue the tradition of helping these independent workers advocate for themselves and share their stories on a national stage.”
